Eye Surgeons Recognizes 30-year Patient
As we celebrate our 35th anniversary, we recognize a patient who has been with us since nearly the start of business. David of Silvis, Illinois has been visiting doctors from Eye Surgeons Associates for over 30 years and remembers the days when there weren’t multiple office locations to choose from when making an appointment.
“When I first began seeing Dr. Arbisser, there was only the one office in the entire Quad City area. I was in my 40’s and drove the same route to work every day. One morning I noticed the road signs were fuzzy and knew that wasn’t quite right. I’d soon find out that I had a cataract in my right eye,” David recalls.
The procedure to correct the cataract went well and about five years later, David would have a cataract in his left eye fixed also. He had the pleasure of working with both Dr. Amir and Dr. Lisa Arbisser over the years until they retired. Their extensive knowledge was apparent and they stayed current with medical technology and changes happening in the industry.
“My father who was a farmer had cataract surgery many years before me,” David states. “Back then his post-surgery recovery consisted of laying his head between two sandbags for two days. Today you can be diagnosed and have your eyes corrected in a few days and be out and about. So much continues to change with technology in making procedures more simple. And I know Eye Surgeons will continue to have the most current technology available.”
Now with five Quad Cities’ locations with one in Silvis where David lives, it’s very convenient for him to make and keep appointments. He visits for regular eye exams and can stop in and have his glasses tuned up while he’s out running errands.
“Even in those first days I had with Eye Surgeons, the doctors were so kind. But it’s not just the doctors. Everyone from the office staff to the nurses that assist are friendly and really want to help. They didn’t just want to talk about your eyes, they were genuinely interested in your life and getting to know you. And your eyes will continue to change as you age. Eye Surgeons is a solid, go-to place that you can depend on,” David shares.
Thanks for sharing your story with ESA! We want to thank our patients for trusting us with their vision. We’re proud to have been helping the Quad Cities and surround communities see better for the last 35 years and look forward to continuing to use the latest proven techniques and technology to provide quality and compassionate eye care.
