How It Works
Submit Your Idea
(June 1-15)
Tell us your creative concept for destroying your glasses. Describe what you’d do and why it represents your freedom from glasses using the online form or DM us. Do not submit video.
ESA Picks Finalists
(June 16-18)
Our panel of ESA judges will select up to six finalists based on creativity, entertainment value, and how well your idea captures the joy of life without glasses.
We Film Your Idea With You
(June 22-27)
Finalists star in a video destroying prop glasses provided by ESA. We’ll handle filming, editing and production. You must have the resources to safely execute your idea for the video and be available some time between June 22-27 for filming.
The Public Votes
(July 6-20)
Your video goes live on our social media channels. Friends, family and followers vote through likes, comments and shares. Our ESA judges also weigh in.
Winners Announced
(July 24)
Winners will be announced on ESA’s Instagram, Facebook and website.

Eligibility and Rules
Who Can Enter?
Legal residents of Scott, Clinton, Muscatine, Rock Island, Henry, Whiteside or Mercer Counties
Ages 21-55
Currently wear glasses/contacts with a valid prescription OR have had LASIK at Eye Surgeons Associates
Must be available for filming June 22-27 if selected as a finalist
The Fine Print
- One entry per person
- Ideas must be appropriate for all audiences
- Finalists may be asked to assist in providing specialty props or locations related to their idea for destroying their glasses. Sponsor reserves the right to modify, adapt, simplify or substitute elements of finalist concepts for safety, production, legal or practical reasons while maintaining the spirit of the original submission.
- No dangerous activities
- If selected as a finalist, you must confirm availability within 48 hours
- Winners must respond within 5 business days and claim prizes within 30 days
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to film my own video?
Nope! Just submit your written idea. If you’re selected as a finalist, we’ll produce a professional video with you as the star.
What if I already had LASIK somewhere else?
This contest is only open to ESA LASIK patients or those interested in having LASIK at ESA.
Do I destroy my actual prescription glasses?
We’ll provide old, unusable glasses or prop glasses. No prescription glasses will be harmed!
Do I need to be a current ESA patient to enter?
No! Anyone in our service area who wears glasses/contacts can enter for a chance at the $1,000 off LASIK prize.
How are winners chosen?
Grand prize is based on public voting (likes, comments, shares) combined with input from our ESA judging panel.
