Title: Palmer Student
Author: Lindsey Luke
I would love to have lasix because I can no longer wear contact lenses. Three years ago I had my first corneal ulcer due to bacteria that got in my contact solution. I was unable to see in that eye for about a week and it was very painful. Once I was on the antibiotics it cleared up and I was allowed by my doctor to wear contacts again, just not to bed anymore. Then this last March my left eye was sore with my contact in and my vision was a little hazy. So I went to my optometrist and began another regimen of antibiotics to kill the infection. After three weeks the infection was still there and I was sent to the University of Iowa. There they did a culture and found that I had a very resistant bacteria and I began a very strong regimen of antibiotics for about 8 weeks. Once this had finally cleared up I found out I was close to needing a corneal transplant. Due to the fact that I am very susceptible to infections, I was advised to not wear contacts again. So here I am a 5th Trimester student at Palmer and I would love to be glasses free! And right now my only option is lasix. So please, help a poor college student out and give her 20/20 vision! Thank you.
