Title: Single Mother of Two Would Like To See Author: Delrae Mayers I have worn glasses since I was 4 years old and I am now 37. I would love to be able to throw my glasses away. The main reason I would like to win this contest is for financial resons. I have two teenage kids and all three of us have to wear glasses. We have to go every year to get our eyes checked and get new glasses. It is very expensive since I dont have vision insurance. Plus I was recently laid off from my job because of downsizing which makes it even harder. Each of our glasses is no less than $200 a piece. It has been a couple of years since I went in for me because my kids come first. I have tried contacts before but because of my astigmatisms the contacts cost me over $300. OUCH! Getting rid of my glasses would make it so I can enjoy the things I love most. Like swimming, if I want to see where I am swimming I have to leave my glasses on. If I didn't I wouldn't be able to see who was who. Plus have you ever lost a pair of glasses in the pool or in a pond? Not good. I also enjoy riding the Harley with my boyfriend, but I have to wear my protective gear which means I have to remove my glasses for a long period of time. Which not only makes my eyes hurt but makes it where I cant see anything. He will point out the scenery to me and I just say ' Yes beautifull ' even though I cant see it. I also like to lay in bed watching T.V. and reading before I go to bed. If I took my glasses off I couldn't do either so I leave them on. Then when I wake up in the morning I have either lost them or they are all bent up. Another reason I would like to win is because of driving. It has gotten to the point where I dont like to drive because of the glares. Night time driving is the worst. The glare from on coming headlights makes it where I am temporarily blind for a few seconds and that is a scary moment. I could go on and on but I think I have said enough.
